Is Obama Giving the Jewish Vote a Bayh?

The rumors are starting to build that Senator Obama will be choosing Senator Evan Bayh as his VP pick

John McCormack of the Weekly Standard reports:
We hear from a well-connected political insider that the largest sign manufacturer in Midwest is churning out Obama-Bayh lawn signs.
KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reports a company in Kansas City, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material.

After weeks of speculation and days of intense rumors, the answer to who Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama would name as his running mate may have come down to a bumper sticker printed in Lenexa. KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reported that the company, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material. That's Bayh as in U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana. Word leaked out about the material as it was being printed up by Gill Studios of Lenexa. The Obama campaign had said it would make the announcement by text message on Friday.Gill Studios, would not confirm information about the material. They would not deny it either. The company president would not comment when asked by Mahoney about the reports. But at least three sources close to the plant's operations reported the Obama-Bayh material was being produced.

BAYH? On first glance it seems so seems like a silly choice, on most issues Bayh is just as liberal as Obama. He does not seem to bring anything new to the "party." He for authorizing use of military force against Iraq, although he has been a critic more recently. Bayh certainly does not have the Foreign Policy Mojo that a Joe Biden has, so if EVAN is the name text messaged across America there is only one reason to pick Bayh--the crucial Jewish vote.

Before you start singing "your so vain you think this song is about you" think about it. The junior Senator from Illinois is having REAL problems with the Jewish Vote, a vote that could mean the difference in crucial states. Evan Bayh will be the Democrats "outreach" to the Jewish Community as he is seen as a friend of Israel:

"I stand strongly with the people of Israel in their efforts to eliminate the threats to them from Hezbollah, Hamas and their sponsors in Syria and Iran. No nation can be asked to turn the other cheek day after day, when its people are subject to daily missile strikes against civilian targets, and cross-border raids that kill and capture its citizens...At times such as these it is clear that American support for Israel and American leadership in the international community to put meaningful pressure on enemies of peace such as these terrorist groups and their patrons is critical." Evan Bayh (July 19, 2006)
