Eric Holder Testified before the House Oversight Committee this morning about the "Fast and Furious Cover-up" and at a particularly tense part of the questioning, a frustrated Holder defended
himself by saying:
I’m Attorney General of the United States, and I should also be held accountable and perhaps even given some credit – imagine that – given some credit for the things that this Justice Department has done under my leadership whether it deals with national security, revitalize anti-trust, revitalize civil rights enforcement efforts, so one has to balance all of these things.
You know, Eric Holder is right, maybe we are hyper-focusing on Fast and Furious...lets take a look at what else he has done.
- He Wrongly Dismissed the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party, then refused to allow Justice Department People to testify about it.
- On November 13, 2009, Holder announced that accused September 11 attack conspirators Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Ramzi Bin al-Shibh, Walid bin Attash, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed al-Hawsawi would be transferred from the military commissions system to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for trial. (In April 2011 after much pressure from congress, he reversed himself).
- He Sued the State of Arizona for enforcing US immigration laws.
- In June 2009 he fought for, and won release of, the memos authorizing enhanced interrogation techniques back in June, giving important data to our terrorist enemies.
- He Announced that his Department of Justice would no longer enforce certain provisions of the Defense of Marriage Act, a valid law passed by congress and signed into law by a previous president.
See what I mean, in just three short years Eric Holder's Justice department has accomplished so much. Lets give him the credit he deserves. It's not just fast and furious---he has screwed up so much!
