The two senators went on a fact finding mission on to Egypt for the president and alienated the new government the moment they landed by insisting on calling the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood's President Morsi---a coup.
"We have said we share the democratic aspirations and criticism of the Morsi government that led millions of Egyptians into the streets," McCain said. "We’ve also said that the circumstances of [Morsi’s] removal was a coup."The Egyptians were not happy with the Senator's words, spokesman for the interim government, Sherief Shawki, responded:
"There is a roadmap, which means that what happened was not a coup and that it was Egyptian people who decided on the roadmap," he told Reuters in an interview. Shawki also said the involvement of McCain and Graham was unwelcome, adding, "We don't want foreign intervention to be imposed on us."Which is diplo-speak for STFU.
In a statement later on Tuesday, distributed by Egypt's Middle East News Agency and reported by
During their press conference Tuesday afternoon, McCain and Graham urged the Egyptian government to find a way to reach an accord with the Muslim Brotherhood protesters, and called on the military to release the handful of party leaders who have recently been arrested.
“In democracy, you sit down and talk to each other,” said Graham. “It is impossible to talk to somebody who is in jail.”
Pressed by local journalists on whether the pair really meant that the military-backed overthrow was a coup, a term that has been the subject of heated debate and tensions in Egypt, McCain responded coolly. “I’m not here to go through the dictionary," he said. "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.”What McCain and Graham fail (or refuse) to realize is the Morsi government had lost the support of the Egyptian people--it had become illegitimate. The military does not wish to hold power and immediately turned the government over to "technocrats," and scheduled new elections.
But Graham and McCain have no ability to think outside of their small minds. Or to paraphrase the McCain...If it walks like a moron, and thinks like a moron..yes Senator McCain is a moron.

Just stating the obvious
They know MacDaddy McCain well!
Not only a moron, McCain blindly supporting Obama shows he has become incurably senile
I have long stated that I will contribute to and vote for ANYONE who opposes McCain. And it doesn't matter to me if that person is a Democrat, Republican, Whig, Zoroastrian, Moonie, or even a purple-ass baboon!
