The IPCC report on Climate Change report discusses the rapid rise of surface temperatures during the 1970s but ignores the fact that the planet has largely stopped warming over the past 15 years. While the initial drafts mentioned that none of the scientific models can explain the decade and a half stop in warming they were taken out of the final report. Documents obtained by the AP indicate the truth may have been removed from the UN Report because of pressure from government's around the world, including the Obama administration. These governments would rather transmit global warming orthodoxy than transmit what is really happening to the world-wide climate.
Global surface temperatures rose rapidly during the 70s, but have been relatively flat over the past decade and a half, rising only 0.05 degrees Celsius (0.09 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade according to data from the U.K.’s weather-watching Met Office a trend current models of the world’s climate have been unable to predict. A draft of the report leaked in early September acknowledged that trend and put it bluntly: We simply can’t explain it.The AP obtained notes to the original draft sent to the IPCC by several governments which reviewed the original draft. These governments objected to the way the 15 year warming hiatus was tackled:
“Models do not generally reproduce the observed reduction in surface warming trend over the last 10–15 years.”
But a final version of the report released Friday morning by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) strips out the failure of models and explains away the downward trend.
'There may also be ... an overestimate of the response to increasing greenhouse gas and other anthropogenic forcing.'
Germany called for the reference to the slowdown to be deleted, saying a time span of 10-15 years was misleading in the context of climate change, which is measured over decades and centuries. The report also ignores the fact the Arctic Ice cap grew by 60% this past year, that very day for the last 23 months, Antarctic sea ice area has been above normal, and more scientists are warning of the coming ice age.
The U.S. also urged the authors to include the "leading hypothesis" that the reduction in warming is linked to more heat being transferred to the deep ocean.
Belgium objected to using 1998 as a starting year for any statistics. That year was exceptionally warm, so any graph showing global temperatures starting with 1998 looks flat, because most years since have been cooler. Using 1999 or 2000 as a starting year would yield a more upward-pointing curve.
Hungary worried the report would provide ammunition for skeptics.
The truth is the UN report released Friday is full of half truths and lies with the ultimate purpose of perpetuating the global warming hoax. Or as the top climate scientist at MIT told Mark Morano of Climate Depot:
‘The latest IPCC report has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence’ — ‘It is quite amazing to see the contortions the IPCC has to go through in order to keep the international climate agenda going’What is not hilarious is what their agenda is going to do to jobs and industry in the United States and across the world.
